Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Dracut, MA

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe clinical environment. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Prior experience in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics will be considered a plus. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, maintaining aseptic technique Take and develop X-rays and medical imaging, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed Record vital signs and medical history, updating patient records accurately in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Manage patient check-in/check-out processes as a dental receptionist when needed Educate patients on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral health maintenance Ensure infection control standards are strictly adhered to in accordance with OSHA guidelines Assist with dental laboratory tasks such as 3D scanning or prosthodontic preparations when required Maintain detailed documentation of procedures using medical coding and accurate medical terminology Support the team with administrative tasks related to medical documentation and records management Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and radiography (X-ray) techniques Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is advantageous Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is desirable but not mandatory This position provides an engaging opportunity for motivated individuals committed to advancing their career in dentistry while delivering exceptional patient care.
