Overview We are seeking a dedicated Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dental team on a part-time basis, working Mondays, Wednesdays, and two Saturdays each month. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, familiarity with dental software, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a comprehensive dental practice that emphasizes pediatric and general dentistry, utilizing advanced technology and maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) using digital imaging systems Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while ensuring HIPAA compliance Obtain vital signs and medical history information from patients prior to procedures Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Maintain infection control protocols following aseptic techniques and OSHA guidelines Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care Assist with medical documentation, coding, and record keeping for insurance purposes Support the dental team in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred, especially in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments Familiarity with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical imaging techniques including 3D scanners is beneficial Experience with chairside assisting in procedures like vital signs measurement, X-ray taking, and medical documentation is required Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is mandatory Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices related to dental records is essential This position offers a rewarding environment where you can utilize your clinical skills while contributing to comprehensive patient care.
