At RSS clinics, they work as a Dental Hygienist within a collaborative practice agreement with one of our Dentists, promoting general oral health, completing exams, and carrying out preventive, and most importantly, minimally invasive treatment using SDF, and Interim Therapeutic Restorations. The “Casual” status means that RSS will offer shifts to the LDH-On Call who will commit to shifts six weeks ahead of the dates. There is no guarantee of minimum hours. Most of the shifts will be in March through June and September through December. The LDH-Casual will carry out all RSS protocols for standard preventive procedures, preliminary charting and treatment planning, minimally invasive dental services, oral hygiene education, nutrition counseling, and caries risk assessment. They will serve children as a dental provider in school-based clinics and be responsible for documentation of services in patient records. They may occasionally take on opening/closing/sanitization duties if they accept the task/extra hours.
