Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate and detailed records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control procedures by adhering to aseptic techniques and sterilization standards in the dental office. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Experience with dental software systems such as Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping. Strong understanding of dental terminology, relevant to dentistry. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes within a dental clinic setting.
