Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Shiprock, NM

Job Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient records, and insurance verification. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office management systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare documentation and compliance standards. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering exceptional patient service. Duties Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding front desk customer service Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or other EMR/EHR platforms Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid processing Collect payments and process medical billing using CPT and ICD coding standards Manage patient intake forms, update electronic health records (EHR systems), and review documentation for accuracy Maintain accurate dental records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist with patient inquiries Perform insurance verification and authorization procedures efficiently Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and document review Support clinic operations by managing medical office documentation, care plans, and medical records management Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist in a clinical setting; dental office experience preferred Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing processes Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft or similar platforms Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Exceptional communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation Office experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable; clinic or hospital experience is advantageous Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in all tasks This role offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing quality dental care.
