Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary supplies while adhering to strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners, ensuring accurate medical imaging for diagnosis. Manage patient records efficiently using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy. Support patients by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and assisting with medical documentation and coding as needed. Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team through four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment by following infection control standards and managing medical records accurately. Skills Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment, with strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology. Proficiency in popular practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR systems like Epic or similar platforms is beneficial for seamless documentation. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including the use of X-ray equipment, vital signs monitoring, and aseptic procedures. Knowledge of infection control practices and sterilization protocols to ensure patient safety. Ability to perform dental radiography competently while adhering to safety standards. Experience working with patients of all ages is preferred. Strong organizational skills for managing medical records, medical coding, and documentation are essential. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages and backgrounds are required.
