Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control standards. Manage patient intake by taking vital signs, medical history, and updating dental records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Operate dental imaging equipment to capture X-ray images while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques. Support chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary supplies, ensure proper sterilization protocols are followed, and maintain a clean, organized environment. Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient communication. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to accurately document procedures and facilitate seamless medical records management. Requirements Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, especially with general dentistry and surgery. Proficiency in dental software systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for managing patient records and scheduling. Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes is mandatory to ensure safety standards are met. Familiarity with X-ray equipment operation and ability to perform radiographic procedures while maintaining patient safety is required. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical documentation practices is necessary for effective communication within the team. Experience with medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners is a plus but not required.
