Overview Apple Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant who is energetic and passionate about community youth health and dentistry to join our practice. The ideal candidate would be dedicated, detail-oriented and support our dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth within the pediatric dentistry specialty. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, efficient, welcoming and compassionate environment for patients. Responsibilities Chair-side assisting (including four-handed dentistry technique). during various procedures demonstrating patience and effective communication with young patients. Take and record vital signs and medical history, including blood pressure, pulse, and other vital signs. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are met. Operate dental imaging equipment to capture high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage medical documentation, including updating health records using Eaglesoft system, while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Provide patient education on dental procedures, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when required. Ensure the clinic environment adheres to safety standards related to infection control and aseptic techniques. Maintain proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical coding, and dentistry procedures to support comprehensive patient care. Qualifications Certification/Registration in dental assisting Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols essential for patient privacy and safety. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical documentation standards. Bi-lingual in Spanish is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail with an upbeat attitude.
