As a Hygiene Assistant, youâll work side by side with our amazing hygiene providers to help deliver outstanding patient care to our local community. What Youâll Do Support hygienists in the day-to-day flow of a busy hygiene schedule Escort patients to and from the operatory and help keep appointments on time Take digital x-rays (once trained/credentialed, if not already certified) Perform polishing under the direction of the hygienist Provide basic oral hygiene instructions and home-care education to patients Turn over rooms between patients (cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking) Assist with instrument sterilization and infection control Help maintain a clean, organized, and patient-friendly environment What Weâre Looking For A positive, friendly, and professional attitude Strong customer service or people-focused background (retail, hospitality, healthcare, etc. all translate well) Willingness to learn and be trained â dental experience is a plus , but not required Comfort working in a fast-paced , team-oriented environment Reliability with the ability to work MondayâFriday, 8:00 AMâ5:00 PM consistently High school diploma or equivalent required Schedule & Pay Schedule: MondayâFriday, 8:00 AMâ5:00 PM Compensation: $18.00â$22.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills If youâre eager to start a long-term career in dentistry, love helping people, and want to grow with a supportive team, weâd love to talk to you. More about the role Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, as well as sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment. Conduct a thorough review of the patientâs health history to provide quality care. Provide superior assistance to supported hygienists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act. Assist with setting up rooms for all hygiene visits including stocking and restocking instruments and supplies Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping. Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations Partner with the providers and team to follow office systems and maximize office workflow. Minimum Qualifications - On the job training and additional certification may be required based on state requirements High school graduate or GED Equivalent Team Player Ability to work in a fast-paced customer-focused environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills The position will have access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job-related functions; regular HIPAA training, aligning with the specific role and responsibilities, will be required; and the individual will need to protect PHI and maintain data safeguards. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
