Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Prior experience with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or OpenDental is highly valued, along with knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical documentation procedures. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained. Take and dental X-rays for diagnostic purposes. Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate medical records management. Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating patient information in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Open Dental. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency. Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all equipment is sterilized according to industry standards. Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care instructions. Assist with medical imaging documentation and coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Requirements Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Open Dental is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with X-ray procedures and medical imaging equipment. Ability to perform chairside assisting in various General Dentistry Procedures. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and documentation accurately. Certification in dental assisting or related field is a plus; ongoing education in dental assisting is encouraged for career growth.
