Extra Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) I or II (DOE) Compensation: $17 â $29/hour (DOE) + Medical Insurance & PTO Location: Elite Dental Group Lakewood Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Extra Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) to join our team! In this role, youâll work side by side with our dentists to provide advanced chairside support and perform expanded functions, such as placing fillings, taking impressions, and fabricating temporary crowns. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced dental assistant who enjoys both clinical and patient care responsibilities in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Expanded Chair-Side Assistance Support dentists during advanced procedures (restorative, endodontic, periodontal). Prepare and place amalgam and composite fillings. Take impressions for crowns, bridges, and prosthetics. Fabricate temporary crowns or bridges chair-side. Radiography & Imaging Take and develop high-quality dental x-rays. Assist with intraoral photography and other imaging needs. Patient Care & Education Provide clear post-op instructions and oral hygiene education. Maintain patient comfort and address concerns during procedures. Reinforce preventive care practices and the importance of regular visits. Infection Control & Sterilization Follow strict infection control and OSHA protocols. Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, safe environment. Track and restock dental materials and supplies. Administrative Support Assist with scheduling, billing, and insurance processing. Maintain accurate treatment notes and patient records. Answer patient inquiries regarding treatment plans or insurance. Requirements Completion of an accredited dental assisting program with expanded functions training. Current EDDA certification/licensure (as required by state). Proficiency in restorative procedures, impressions, and temporary crown fabrication. Knowledge of dental materials, instruments, and advanced procedures. Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
