Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and patient-focused Dental Specialty Receptionist / Front Office professional to join our oral surgery practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and proficiency in various electronic health record (EHR) systems. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations and positive patient experiences. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service at the front desk Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using dental and medical scheduling software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar systems Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing and coding Collect payments and process medical billing using CPT and ICD coding standards Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently Maintain accurate and complete medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Review documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to submission Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; handle inquiries promptly Perform data entry tasks including 10-key typing and documentation review Assist with insurance verification, claim submission, and follow-up on outstanding balances Support clinic operations by managing filing systems, faxing, scanning documents, and maintaining office supplies Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth to update patient information Ensure compliance with health information management standards and dental terminology protocols Requirements Prior experience in a dental office or medical clinic setting is highly preferred; experience with dental specialty practices is a plus Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Meditech, Epic, or similar platforms Knowledge of medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, and documentation review processes Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and health information management best practices Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10-key), and office management software Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are a plus Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong organizational skills with clerical experience in front desk or administrative roles in healthcare settings Knowledge of dental terminology and clinic experience preferred but not required High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in medical administration is advantageous Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00 - $29.50 per hour Benefits: On-the-job training Paid training Work Location: In person
