Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our expanding dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a smooth clinical operation. The position involves utilizing advanced dental software and adhering to strict infection control protocols, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality care. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth in accordance with established protocols. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and assess patient health status prior to procedures. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort. Operate and manage dental equipment such as medical imaging devices and EMR systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Ensure proper documentation review, accurate medical coding, and maintenance of comprehensive medical records while complying with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures. Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, demonstrating familiarity with pediatric patient needs. Assist with patient assessment, documentation review, and other clinical tasks to support overall patient care. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license with current state licensure. Proven experience in general dentistry or dental clinic settings; experience with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and chairside assisting is advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, medical records management, documentation review, and medical coding standards. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically. Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and clinical procedures. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
