Overview We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth in accordance with established protocols Take and record vital signs and medical imaging as needed for patient assessments Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Review and update medical records accurately within EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Ensure infection control procedures are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols Document patient care activities thoroughly, including medical coding where applicable Support pediatric patients by providing gentle, compassionate care tailored to childrenâs needs Conduct patient assessments to identify oral health issues and communicate findings effectively Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification Experience with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and medical terminology Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics is a plus Proficiency in medical coding, documentation review, and EMR systems required Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control practices, and general dentistry procedures Prior experience in dental clinic or dental office settings highly desirable Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism This position offers a rewarding environment where your skills directly impact patient health and satisfaction.
