Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current medications Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing chairside assistance with instruments and materials Skills Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology for accurate documentation and communication Experience with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient record keeping Strong understanding of infection control practices, including sterilization and aseptic technique Ability to perform patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement and patient assessment with professionalism Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to comfortably treat pediatric patients in a pediatric dentistry setting Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team Join us in making a positive impact on our patientsâ oral health!
