Quality Control Technician

Job Summary
Excel Orthodontics is seeking a detail oriented Quality Control Technician to support the quality assurance of all fabricated orthodontic appliances. This role plays a critical part in ensuring appliances meet prescription requirements, doctor preferences, and internal quality standards before delivery to customers.
The ideal candidate has orthodontic or dental assisting experience, strong attention to detail, and enjoys hands on work in a laboratory environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Review prescriptions and doctor preferences in DLCPM upon receipt of models and prescriptions

Perform a three step quality check on all completed appliances

Verify appliances are fabricated according to the prescription

Check appliance fit on models to ensure proper function and accuracy

Confirm billing matches the prescription and the appliance produced

Perform minor appliance adjustments to improve fit and return cases to leads for more complex corrections when needed

Update call notes and case notes to document differences between prescriptions and completed appliances when necessary

Assist with completing appliances as needed to support production flow

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Minimum of two years of orthodontic or dental assisting experience required

Working Conditions
This position works in a laboratory environment that produces orthodontic appliances. The role regularly uses hand tools such as pliers, lathes, and wires, as well as standard office equipment including computers, phones, and printers or scanners.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM and include a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on business needs.
Travel
No travel is required for this position.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and arms, and move throughout the facility. Light physical effort is required, including repetitive hand movements and the ability to lift or maneuver up to 35 pounds.
