Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting specializing in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and medical documentation standards. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred. The position involves assisting with X-ray procedures, vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies following aseptic techniques Take dental X-rays while adhering to radiation safety standards Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Dentrix Manage patient check-in/check-out processes as a dental receptionist when needed Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a sterile environment Operate 3D scanners and other advanced dental imaging equipment for precise diagnostics Assist with medical documentation and coding for insurance claims and patient records Support four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures Educate patients on post-treatment care and dental health maintenance Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments according to OSHA standards Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix is advantageous Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices is essential Experience with pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, or general dentistry is a plus Proficiency in taking X-rays, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging techniques Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control procedures, and aseptic technique Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in a fast-paced environment Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory This role provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth within a supportive team committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
