Job Summary We are a well-established private dental practice seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our professional and patient-focused team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chairside assisting, infection control, medical documentation, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including IV sedation, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining a sterile environment Take and develop X-rays and other medical imaging as required for diagnosis and treatment planning Monitor vital signs and patient comfort levels before, during, and after procedures involving sedation Manage electronic health records (Curve Dental) ensuring accurate documentation of treatments and medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide patient education on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral hygiene practices Support administrative tasks including dental reception duties when needed, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow using four-handed and six-handed dentistry techniques Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to accurately document procedures Skills Proven experience in dental assisting with IV sedation procedures. Ability to provide compassionate care to high fear patients, special needs and geriatric patients. Proficiency in EMR system (Curve Dental experience a plus) familiarity with medical documentation and coding. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards in a dental setting. Experience with geriatric and special needs dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery and general dentistry procedures. Ability to operate X-ray equipment and perform vital signs monitoring accurately. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, 3D scanners, and medical imaging techniques. Skilled in chairside assisting with four-handed or six-handed dentistry practices for efficiency and patient comfort. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about treatments and post-care instructions. Bilingual skills are a plus. Ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of patient care.
