Dental Hygienist - North Texas Dental Associates - Plano, TX

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, maintaining infection control standards, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental team. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, patient assessments, and supporting general dentistry procedures, ensuring compliance with all health regulations including HIPAA. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix, as well as pediatric dentistry expertise, is highly valued. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and record vital signs and medical history assessments for patients Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while maintaining proper aseptic techniques Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans to promote optimal dental health Support pediatric dentistry procedures with specialized care tailored for children Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness Maintain infection control protocols adhering to OSHA standards and CDC guidelines Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Monitor patient comfort levels throughout treatments and address any concerns promptly Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations safeguarding patient confidentiality Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations Proven experience in dental office settings, including general dentistry and pediatrics preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic technique Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively within a fast-paced environment Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and medical imaging techniques Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards diverse patient populations including pediatrics Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and security of patient information Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently This position is integral to delivering high-quality dental care while fostering a positive experience for our patients.
