Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient care, utilizing advanced dental technology and systems. Experience in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, or prosthodontics is preferred, along with proficiency in electronic health records and medical coding. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, and prosthodontics Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools Manage patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA Record vital signs and medical history to support comprehensive patient care Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and ensuring the cleanliness of the clinical environment Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a child-friendly environment Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; experience with dental assisting is essential Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and medical records management is preferred Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively; certification in radiography is required if applicable Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures including endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatrics, and medical imaging techniques Excellent communication skills to educate patients about oral health and post-treatment care Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is desirable but not mandatory This position offers an engaging work environment dedicated to providing exceptional patient care through skilled assistance and clinical excellence.
