Job Summary We are seeking a sharp and enthusiastic Chairside Dental Assistant to join our general dentistry practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care by assisting the dentist during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role requires strong knowledge of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and the ability to operate x-rays and intraoral photography. At least one year general dental experience and familiarity with Dentrix is required. This position offers an opportunity to work in a small office with a big heart. Duties Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Take digital X-rays and intra oral photographs while ensuring patient safety and comfort; operate other dental equipment as needed. Record detailed medical and dental histories, vital signs, and other patient information in Dentrix. Manage medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with billing or coding if required. Collaborate with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency during procedures. Stay current on advancements in dental technology and diagnostic tools. Experience Prior experience with general dentistry procedures is essential. Proficiency in Dentrix is highly preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation practices is required. Experience with prosthodontics, endodontics, and dental implants is a plus. Certification in X-ray technology and radiography is required Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques are critical for success in this role.
