Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Scottsdale, AZ

Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and professional Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical billing, and office management systems to ensure smooth daily operations. Experience with electronic health records (EHR), dental software, and insurance verification is essential to succeed in this position. Duties Greet patients warmly and handle all front desk responsibilities, including multi-line phone systems and patient check-in/check-out procedures Schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes accurately Collect payments and manage medical billing, CPT coding, ICD coding, and documentation review Maintain accurate patient records within EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information Assist with intake procedures and patient data entry with high attention to detail and typing accuracy Manage clinic correspondence, filing, and medical records organization Support office management tasks including clinic experience documentation, care plans, and health information management Provide excellent patient service by demonstrating strong phone etiquette, clerical skills, and professionalism at all times Skills Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix Experience with dental terminology and medical coding including ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT coding for billing purposes Knowledge of insurance verification processes and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and dental office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and communication Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently with proper phone etiquette Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Previous clinic or dental office experience preferred; familiarity with medical billing and administrative support roles highly desirable Attention to detail in documentation review and health information management tasks Capable of managing front desk operations smoothly while maintaining professionalism under pressure This position offers an opportunity to be part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing exceptional patient care through efficient administrative support.
