Position Summary: The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) plays a vital role in supporting the dentist and ensuring efficient clinical operations. This position is responsible for assisting during dental procedures, preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and providing exceptional patient care. The RDA helps create a positive patient experience by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment while adhering to all regulatory and infection control standards. Strong communication, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential to support high-quality dental services and smooth daily workflows. Primary Responsibilities: Assist the dentist during chairside procedures in a timely and professional manner Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) Apply topical fluoride and other topical medications as directed Take dental impressions and bite registrations Fabricate, adapt, and adjust temporary crowns Prepare, set up, and break down operatory and exam rooms for patient care Perform thorough operatory and exam room cleaning and disinfection between patients Clean, sterilize, disinfect, and organize dental instruments in accordance with OSHA, CDC, and office infection control standards Maintain knowledge of and compliance with dental office infection control protocols, OSHA regulations, and CDC guidelines Coordinate patient flow by working with patients from exam through dismissal Provide excellent patient interaction, education, and support to ensure a positive patient experience Schedule patient reappointments and assist with patient coordination as needed Provide accurate and professional translation for providers and patients when needed to ensure clear communication and quality of care Prepare and manage paperwork related to exams and treatment setup Perform other duties as assigned to support clinical and office operations Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the practice. Update patient dental history in Open Dental. Maintain patient confidentiality and abide by HIPAA best practices. Assist to schedule and confirm appointments for patients as needed. Assist in community/marketing events as needed. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Experience Requirements: Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in the State of Texas ( *All license requirements must be completed within 90 days of hire. License must remain active throughout the duration of employment. Failure to maintain or renew license prior to expiration will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.) Active Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Nitrous Monitoring, Pit & Fissure Sealant, and Coronal Polishing certifications preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish Knowledge of chairside assisting procedures and dental terminology Ability to take diagnostic-quality dental radiographs in compliance with state regulations Understanding of infection control standards, OSHA regulations, and CDC guidelines Experience fabricating and adapting temporary crowns preferred Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work weekends and late hours as needed Excellent organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced clinical environment Proficiency with dental software and basic computer skills Ability to work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, and front office staff Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor Position Type: Non-exempt, Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Benefits: AD&D insurance Bereavement leave Dental insurance Disability insurance Health insurance Life insurance On-the-job training Opportunities for advancement Paid time off Paid training Professional development assistance Vision insurance Experience: Dental assisting: 2 years (Required) Language: English (Required) Spanish (Required) License/Certification: Sealant Certification (Preferred) Nitrous Oxide Certification (Preferred) Coronal Polish Certificate (Preferred) Work Location: In person
