Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Honolulu, HI
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and patient assessment techniques. Korean understanding or communication is preferred. The Dental Hygienist will collaborate with the dental team to ensure optimal oral health outcomes for patients across all age groups, including pediatric dentistry. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental hygiene care, including scaling, root planing, and polishing . Conduct patient assessments , including review of medical history and evaluation of oral health. Take diagnostic dental radiographs in accordance with safety and infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care to support long-term oral health. Accurately document clinical findings in the patient chart in compliance with HIPAA standards. Monitor and record vital signs as part of routine hygiene appointments. Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe operatory environment following infection control guidelines. Team-Based Support Environment The hygienist will work in a supportive team setting with dental assistants and front office staff. Chairside assisting, scheduling, billing, and coding support are provided as needed to ensure efficient workflow. The dentist and team are available for clinical consultation and assistance whenever support is needed . Our practice values collaboration over multitasking , allowing hygienists to focus on patient care. Experience Prior experience working in general dentistry or dental clinics is highly preferred Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus Proficiency in dental assisting, chairside assisting, and infection control procedures is desirable Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy relevant to oral health, and HIPAA compliance is essential Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient care while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment Qualifications Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in accordance with state regulations. Strong knowledge of infection control, dental anatomy, and preventive dentistry . Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients. Comfortable using dental software/EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar). Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality patient care.
