Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform comprehensive dental cleanings, and support the overall health and well-being of our patients. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols, with a focus on pediatric dentistry and general dentistry services. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure efficient clinic operations while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and medical records regulations. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays in accordance with safety protocols Support pediatric dentistry procedures through specialized care techniques Document patient information accurately in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Maintain infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures, ensuring smooth workflow Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding where applicable Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to deliver comprehensive patient care Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or both, preferably within a dental clinic setting Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and vital signs monitoring Experience in pediatrics and four-handed dentistry is a plus Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and documentation review processes Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism Join our team to make a positive impact on patientsâ oral health while advancing your career in a supportive and professional environment.
