Seeking Dental Assistant to work on Wednesdays (8 AM - 5 PM) Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient clinic operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in assisting with chairside procedures, medical documentation, and patient education. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental X-rays following proper aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic Maintain patient comfort by providing chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices Manage medical documentation including medical records and coding for billing purposes Assist with the operation of 3D scanners and other advanced imaging equipment when necessary Support infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth workflow and excellent patient experience Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; experience with dental assisting preferred Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding is a plus Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and sterilization processes Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics Certification or training in chairside assisting is highly desirable Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, general dentistry, and medical imaging is advantageous Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality This position offers an engaging opportunity for qualified Dental Assistants committed to delivering high-quality patient care within a professional environment.
