POSITION: Dentist LOCATION: Victoria, VA SCHEDULE: 4 days at 34 hours OR 5 days at 40 hours SALARY: $180k - $190k OR $200 - $210k BENEFITS 4 weeks paid vacation annually 4 hours sick leave accrued biweekly (13 days/year) 2 discretionary days per year 1week continuing education, plus $2000 reimbursement for expenses Paid license fees, DEA, one professional membership annually 9 paid holidays Liability Insurance covered through Federal Tortes Claims Act 100% paid employee health dental insurance for employee portion (family members at an additional cost) 3% retirement match 2day travel incentive âweekend getawayâ per year GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Sole Dentist comfortable working independently. Option to grow and develop an already busy practice, with established & experienced support staff. Supervises 3 dental staff members (hygienist and assistants). Provides leadership to entire dental office. The Dentist is appointed by and responsible to the Chief Medical Officer and is charged with providing leadership in all areas relating to the clinical operation of the dental clinic. The Dentist is responsible for recommending and implementing clinical policies and procedures, supervising the clinical staff in their dental duties, ensuring continuous quality improvement in all clinical activities, and acting as an integral part of the management team of the dental office. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Ensures quality control, oversees clinical protocols and procedures, coordinates clinical activities to ensure clinical outcomes and supervises dental clinic staff. 2. Evaluate, diagnose, prevent and/or treat diseases, disorders/or conditions of the oral cavity. 3. Examines patient to determine nature of condition, utilizing x-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures. 4. Organizes the clinical staff and resources in carrying out the dental program of the Health Center. 5. Participates with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Medical Officer to provide input to the management team in regard to dental operations. 6. Coordinates with the Office Manager in regard to the administrative activities of the dental site. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Dentist reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer. EVALUATION: The Dentistâs work performance will be evaluated annually by the Chief Medical Officer. 1. A valid license to practice dentistry in the state of Virginia. 2. The ability to employ necessary management techniques in the ongoing supervision of the dental staff. 3. Must be qualified in Basic Life Support techniques. 4. The ability to analyze complex information and communicate effectively in oral and written communication. 5. Personal and professional qualities which will permit the Dentist to work with the staff of the dental center in such a manner as to earn their confidence and respect. STATUS: This position is an FLSA exempt position. This is an OSHA highrisk position. This is an ADA negotiable position.
