Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Boise, ID

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Experience with electronic medical records and dental software is preferred, along with a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment focused on comprehensive general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and medical imaging such as X-rays and 3D scans Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring aseptic technique is maintained Take record medical and dental history accurately in electronic health records in Open Dental. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical documentation, and scheduling appointments Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Assist with infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices Handle administrative tasks related to medical records, medical coding, and documentation within the dental practice management system Assisting the front desk and providing front desk coverage on an as needed basis. Experience Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred Familiarity with dental software such as Open Dental and Carestream is advantageous Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques is essential Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging including 3D scanners, and vital signs measurement is desirable Expanded functions is required. This position requires a proactive individual committed to providing excellent patient care while adhering to all safety and health regulations. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team of dental professionals.
