Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and terminology. The successful candidate will be committed to maintaining patient comfort, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental team. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth, while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Take and record vital signs, medical history, and dental assessments to evaluate patient health status. Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging, medical records documentation review, and medical coding as needed. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote optimal dental health. Support general dentistry procedures through four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures and address any concerns or questions professionally. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure efficient practice operations and high-quality patient care. Qualifications Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft. Experience in pediatric dentistry, pediatrics, or general dentistry preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and chairside assisting effectively. Familiarity with medical records management, documentation review, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively across all age groups. Prior experience working in dental clinics or dental offices is highly desirable.
