Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our orthodontists. Spanish speaker preferred Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and equipment. Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage patient records using dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Support pediatric patients by creating a comfortable environment during their visits. Participate in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Assist with administrative tasks as required, including scheduling appointments and managing inventory. Qualifications Previous experience in general dentistry or orthodontics is preferred. Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding of radiographic techniques. Knowledge of four-handed dentistry principles is highly desirable. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Experience with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic is advantageous. Basic knowledge of endodontics and medical coding can enhance candidacy. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new techniques and technologies in orthodontics.
