Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Federal Way, WA

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and proficiency in various dental software systems. Hours are Monday-Thursday from 7:00AM-4:00PM with an hour lunch. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations with knowledge of Dexis. Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation using EMR systems such as and Eaglesoft. Conduct patient intake, including recording vital signs and medical history. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate with the dental receptionist for seamless patient flow. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques throughout the clinic. Assist in various dental specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, and Dexis. Knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. Experience with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is a plus. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining patient comfort. Strong communication skills to interact with patients and team members professionally. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Certification in CPR or First Aid is preferred.
