Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Austin, TX

Overview T,W,Th 8-4 F 8-1 1 hour lunch and 1.5h team lunch on tuesdays Growing practice looking for someone with an upbeat personality to work as an independent dental assistant. Job will focus on our new patient appointments with treatment plan presentation, collecting and scheduling as well as delivering retainers and night guards. Responsibilities Create a positive experience walking new patients through their exam, taking x rays, scanning with itero or trios scanner, creating treatment plans, charting existing treatment and polishing teeth. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining strict aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using Eaglesoft , ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions in clear, understandable language. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying patient information, and maintaining medical documentation. Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist with medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment, with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools confidently. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and support the dental teamâs efforts in providing outstanding care.
