Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Westmont, IL
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate with the dental receptionist for patient flow. Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary. Support pediatric dentistry needs by creating a welcoming environment for children. Handle administrative tasks such as filing, inventory management, and ordering supplies. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix ascend is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation, and endodontics is beneficial. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is desirable. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Ability to take medical imaging effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and team members professionally. Capability to monitor vital signs when required.
