Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments, utilizing chairside assisting techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take digital dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed. Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs measurement and assess patient comfort before procedures. Maintain aseptic technique and infection control standards throughout all clinical activities. Educate patients on oral health care, post-operative instructions, and treatment plans using appropriate dental terminology. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing medical documentation as needed. Operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanner. Ensure the clinic environment adheres to safety protocols and infection control guidelines at all times. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; familiarity with dental assisting procedures is essential. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Mogo, Eaglesoft, and/or Dentrix, experience with dental coding and records management is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, and various dental specialties including endodontics and prosthodontics. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is desirable but not mandatory.
