Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting oral health. We are currently looking for someone to fill in on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 8-5, for the month of January, can do one, two , or all three days. After January, one to two days a week will be available going forward if desired. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies to maintain optimal oral health. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficient workflow and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling sensitive medical information appropriately. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments. Proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and medical coding practices. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess individual needs and communicate effectively. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient flow.
