Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures to safeguard patient and staff health. Collaborate with dentists during procedures in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry settings, providing excellent patient care throughout visits. Monitor and document vital signs before procedures to ensure patient safety during treatments. Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with dental terminology standards. Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing dental charts. Uphold all infection control standards, including proper sterilization of instruments and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or iDentalsoft is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and documentation review processes. Hands-on experience with pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform dental assisting duties, including chairside assisting with precision and professionalism. Knowledge of infection control practices aligned with OSHA standards and HIPAA regulations. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse patient populations. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality standards.
