Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to individual needs. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting treatment plans, patient responses, and procedural notes in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records appropriately. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, supporting proper medical coding for billing purposes. Monitor patient vital signs during appointments to ensure safety throughout procedures. Support infection control standards by following sterilization procedures and maintaining a sterile environment within the dental operatory. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting is required. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is essential. Experience working with pediatric patients or in pediatric dentistry is a plus but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes will enhance your success in this role. Prior experience with infection prevention protocols and maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines ensures compliance and patient trust.
