Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with enthusiasm and precision. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly while adhering to strict infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems , such as Dentrix oe Open Dental, to ensure accurate documentation of treatments, medical history, and medical coding. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical documentation to support overall patient health assessments. Provide excellent customer service as a Dental Receptionist by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with all privacy standards. Support infection control practices by following aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment throughout the clinic. Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care to promote ongoing dental wellness. Collaborate with the team in four-handed dentistry practices to maximize efficiency during procedures. Utilize knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to assist with treatment preparations and patient explanations effectively. Operate dental equipment including the 3D scanner, medical imaging devices, and other specialized tools, with confidence. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems, mainly Dentrix with experience using dental imaging technology. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols within a healthcare environment. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding standards. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry for seamless workflow efficiency. Familiarity with advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and digital imaging systems. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
