Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. As a key member of our practice, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive preventive dental services, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental office. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, and polishing to prevent oral disease. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dietary impacts on dental health, and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain accurate medical records and document treatment procedures in electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Dentrix Ascend) Support infection control standards by following HIPAA regulations, sterilization procedures, and proper documentation review. Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans, review documentation, and ensure comprehensive patient care. Monitor vital signs during appointments to identify any health concerns that may impact dental treatment or require medical referral. Stay current with advancements in dental terminology, medical coding, and best practices in general dentistry. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a clinical setting with familiarity in dental office operations. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience using EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend for documentation and record management.
