In this energetic role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment rooms, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and cared for and also perform front desk role. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and patient communication will help create a positive experience for every patient. Duties Perform receptist duties and be willing to cross train and perform the roles below. Prepare treatment areas with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures, providing support as needed. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions while maintaining infection control standards using aseptic techniques. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team. Skills Answer phone calls and schedule appointments and support front desk staff. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and dental terminology. Experience with dental software. Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners with precision. Familiarity with general dentistry procedures as well as specialized fields like endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, hygienists, patients, and administrative staff.
