Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our dental practice in Ankeny, Iowa, as a Dental Assistant. This role plays a crucial part in supporting our dental team and ensuring efficient patient care. Responsibilities include providing chairside assistance to dentists, sterilizing instruments, preparing treatment rooms, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for taking and developing dental X-rays, recording patient information, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. While a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a dental assistant program are preferred, they are NOT REQUIRED. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in the dental field. Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring cleanliness and proper setup. Sterilize and maintain dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays as prescribed by dentists. Record patient information and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Assist in managing the flow of patients and ensuring a positive patient experience. Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred but NOT REQUIRED! Will provide training for X-ray certification in accordance with state regulations. Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and terminology. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy. Basic computer skills for managing patient records and scheduling.
