Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Sumner, IA

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice on MONDAYS 7AM-5PM and/or the first FRIDAY of the month from 7AM-1PM. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. The Registered Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols Maintain accurate documentation of patient records Review medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Support infection control practices through aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures Collaborate with dentist and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care Ensure the clinical environment remains organized, sterile, and compliant with safety standards Skills Proficiency in dental software Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging accurately Familiarity with documentation review, and medical records management Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to patient education and comfort Ability to work efficiently in general dentistry settings Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information Effective communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics This position offers an opportunity to be part of a professional team dedicated to delivering high-quality dental care while fostering your growth within the field.
