Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and medical documentation to deliver high-quality dental services in a professional environment. Experience is preferred. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining patient comfort and safety while supporting the delivery of comprehensive dental care. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, adhering to proper radiation safety protocols Record vital signs Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Provide chairside assistance with dental terminology, medical imaging, and medical documentation Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating medical records Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Support general dentistry procedures as well as specialized areas like endodontics and prosthodontics Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; certification in radiography preferred Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental specialties including pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Certification in CPR or BLS Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards for protecting patient information This position offers an opportunity to be part of a professional team committed to delivering exceptional dental care while fostering your growth within the field.
