Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control protocols are strictly followed. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions. Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments to uphold the highest standards of infection control. Support medical imaging procedures and assist with complex cases requiring detailed anatomy knowledge or specialized equipment. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting duties. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately while adhering to radiation safety guidelines. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working effectively with children is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers. Certification in chairside assisting; additional certifications in medical imaging or pediatric dentistry are advantageous. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures; experience with 3D scanners or advanced imaging tools is a bonus.
