Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting optimal oral health, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring a positive patient experience within a professional and supportive environment. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral health status. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and clinical notes in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team by managing inventory of dental supplies and sterilization processes to uphold high standards of infection control. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards in general dentistry settings. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience working in dental clinics or dental offices, preferably with pediatric dentistry exposure. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and patient record management. Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization standards. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Strong understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate record-keeping. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients across diverse age groups including pediatrics.
