Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Lowell, MA

Job Overview We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of dental office operations, medical billing, and electronic health record (EHR) systems. The Dental Receptionist will ensure smooth clinic operations by handling patient scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records. Experience with dental terminology is highly valued to support effective documentation review and care plan coordination. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent patient service at the front desk Schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently Answer multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette and assist with patient inquiries Review documentation for completeness and accuracy before submission Assist with insurance claims processing and follow-up on outstanding balances Support clinic administrative functions including filing, data entry, and document management Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and care plans Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role, preferably within a dental clinic environment Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing (10 key typing skills) Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Exceptional customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment Prior dental office experience or clinic experience is highly desirable This position offers an opportunity to be part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing quality dental care while supporting efficient office operations.
