Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials while maintaining aseptic technique Take and develop X-rays and other medical imaging as required, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment areas according to OSHA guidelines Assist with administrative tasks including verifying insurance information. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients Keep up-to-date with advancements in dental technology such as 3D scanners and other diagnostic tools Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting Knowledge of dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, X-ray operation, vital signs measurement, and infection control practices Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental. Understanding of dental terminology related to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with the dental team Certification or training in radiography (X-ray) preferred but not mandatory if willing to obtain certification upon hire Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times This position is integral to providing high-quality dental care while supporting the overall efficiency of our practice.
