Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting with a focus on general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, is preferred. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays using medical imaging equipment and ensure proper radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration prior to procedures. Educate patients on dental terminology, post-operative care, and infection control procedures. Maintain aseptic techniques throughout all clinical procedures to prevent infection transmission. Assist with medical documentation and coding for insurance claims or medical records management. Support dental reception duties when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners and intraoral cameras to facilitate diagnosis and treatment planning. Ensure compliance with all safety standards related to anatomy knowledge, infection control, and medical documentation. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting; experience with general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, or endodontics is highly valued. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix is preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols within a dental environment. Ability to perform X-ray imaging safely following radiation safety standards. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Excellent chairside assisting skills including four-handed dentistry techniques. Familiarity with dental imaging technology including 3D scanners and intraoral cameras. Ability to maintain professionalism while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Certification in radiography or x-ray technology is desirable but not mandatory; ongoing training will be provided for the right candidate.
