Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Prior experience with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is highly valued. The role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical documentation, and aseptic techniques to deliver comprehensive dental assistance. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms with appropriate instruments and materials in accordance with infection control protocols Operate and manage electronic health records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety standards Perform chairside assisting including four-handed dentistry techniques and vital signs monitoring Manage medical imaging procedures including 3D scanning when applicable Maintain accurate medical records and documentation following dental coding standards Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions Ensure the clinic environment remains sterile through proper aseptic techniques and infection control procedures Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and assisting with dental reception duties when needed Keep up-to-date with advances in dental technology and procedures related to general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, and endodontics Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms Knowledge of HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy and data security Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation standards Experience with X-ray procedures and radiation safety protocols Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques effectively Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical environment Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry including oral cavity structures Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail Certification or training in pediatric dentistry is a plus; experience working with pediatric patients is preferred Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration This position offers an engaging work environment where your skills directly contribute to patient health and comfort.
