Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control protocols are followed, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining patient comfort and safety while supporting the clinical team with various procedures across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control standards are maintained. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging. Record vital signs, medical history, and other patient information accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix,. Manage medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions. Maintain dental supplies inventory and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with billing or coding as needed. Collaborate with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures. Ensure all clinical operations adhere to OSHA standards and proper anatomy knowledge is applied during procedures. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and medical terminology is advantageous. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, dental assisting procedures, and anatomy relevant to dentistry is essential. Experience with X-ray technology, 3D scanners, medical imaging equipment, and medical coding will be considered a plus. Certification in radiography or X-ray licensing required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or specific specialties are beneficial.
